In London Yoga was introduced from ancient India as a way of finding permanent peace within oneself. This activity incorporates a number of mental, spiritual, and physical practices that are aimed at establishing a state of peace in people who practice. Some texts describe this activity as a union with divine. The modern term yoga was derived from two root words, that is, yujir yoga and yuj samadhau.

Different traditions of this exercise are found in Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism. In Hinduism, yoga is one of the 6 schools of Hindu philosophy. It also forms a key portion of Tibetan and Vajrayana Buddhist philosophies. The West was initially introduced to yoga by monks from India in late 19th Century. By 80s it had become popular system for physical exercise being exercised by many individuals in the Western world.

The ultimate goal that most practitioners intend to achieve by practicing is liberation. This comes from the belief that practicing helps elevate the life force situated at the foot of the spine. The life force is also referred to as kundalini. This elevation of the life force is achieved through a sequence of mental and physical exercises. Exercises consist of body postures that are meant to ensure perfect health.

Mental techniques comprise of meditation and breathing exercises that assist in disciplining mind. Although this activity entails meditation, it does not imply that it is a form of religion. It is just a way of life that targets to achieve a healthy mind inside a healthy body. Since humans are spiritual, mental, and physical beings, yoga intends to form and promote a balance among them. This is the reason why exercises that touch on all these three aspects of human beings are involved.

Yogic practices recharge bodies with cosmic energy which facilitates and promotes many activities in the body. For instance, this energy promotes self-healing, self awareness, and personal power. It also helps one to attain a sense of perfection as far as equilibrium and harmony is concerned. It also removes and inhibits the movement of negative blocks and toxins in the body.

People who practice on a daily basis have their sense of concentration and focus raised. This is especially important to kids. For people who work for several hours in a day, this exercise is good because it helps them to relax and stay serene. The physical body gets relieved of tension and stress due to the activation of parasympathetic nervous system. Participants feel energized and rejuvenated after the exercise.

Studies have revealed that there are many medical benefits associated with participation in yogic activities. Some of the sicknesses that one gets safeguarded from as a result of taking part in yogic activities consist of heart diseases, blood pressure, and cancer. This however occurs after participating for a long period.
